After portraying a wife or a lover with actors like Farhan Akhtar, Abhishek Bachchan, Emraan Hashmi, John Abraham and Sanjay Dutt, actress Prachi Desai feels that she hasn’t done any experimental roles so far. Stating that she doesn’t have problem with that, Prachi says she “wants to do film like Kahaani and follow in the footsteps of actresses like Rani Mukerji and Kajol.”

“I haven’t got any unconventional role so far that I can take a jump into,” says Prachi. She believes that despite being non-experimental, she is not a typecast in her roles. “I don’t think I have any contribution to this image. I got an opportunity and took it up. Every move in my life was a conscious decision. As an actor I have tried not to repeat myself because I don’t want the audience should think that I am 80-years old after seeing me doing the same kind of roles again and again,” says Prachi.

Keeping that sweet smile intact on her face, Prachi quickly adds, “I want to be more myself when I am on screen and want to do roles of my age.”

She does not deny the fact that she is being offered roles which are similar to what she has already done. “Trust me, I am getting repetitive roles all the time. It is because something has worked earlier and people want to cash in on the same thing again. So, as an actor it becomes tough to take decision.”

Presently, the young diva is looking for a romantic script for a fresh start. “Of all the scripts that I have right now I might end up choosing a romantic film,” says Prachi, who is personally fond of the iconic Breakfast at Tiffany’s when it comes to a romantic film.

Since Prachi is going by a strategy to play a long inning in the Bollwood, Metrolife asks her about how she selects a film. “Sometimes it is a role, sometimes a director, at other times, it is an actor. Occasionally, you do get a complete package of a fabulous director, actor (and story),” says Prachi.

As she talks about her co-stars, the young actress who was recently in the City to launch ‘Pure it Marvella RO’ system says, “I feel fortunate to have done a variety of work with different stars each time. There is some perception about all these stars in the industry but when you start shooting with them you are taken aback. They have so much experience, which talks volumes and they are inherently good human beings.”
