Last Updated 30 July 2013, 22:22 IST

The traffic police have planned some diversion on arterial roads throughout the week to facilitate movement of Kanwarias coming to the city by foot or walking towards Haryana and Rajasthan.

“During movement of the Kanwarias and setting up of camps on the roadside, traffic jams happen at several places. There is heavy congestion on Rani Jhansi Road from Barafkhana Chowk to Fire Station, Boulevard Road and at Azad Market Chowk. Heavy traffic congestion is also observed at Khajuri Chowk, Gokalpuri Flyover, 66 Foota Road, Maujpur Chowk, Babarpur T-point, Bhajanpura Chowk, Keshav Chowk, Dharampura T-point and Mathura Road,” said additional commissioner of police (traffic) Anil Shukla.

“Due to diversion of traffic bound for Apsara border and Maharajpur border to Ghazipur by UP Police, there will be congestion on NH-24 as well,” he added.
