ATM theft attempt: Minor held

Two alert policemen caught a juvenile red-handed while he was trying to break open an ATM in Palace Guttahalli in the early hours of Monday.

Praveen and Srinivas, attached to Seshadripuram police station, were on night duty when they spotted a young man trying to break open the Corporation Bank ATM near the BDA Complex at around 3 am. As the two policemen attempted to catch the burglar, he elbowed them and ran out. However, the constables apprehended him after a chase. During interrogation, it came to light that the juvenile was attempting to open the ATM using a cutting-plier.

Police have refused to divulge the identity of the offender as he is a juvenile. They did, however, reveal that he is from Bihar and was employed as an office boy with a fashion design studio in the City. A case has been registered at Seshadripuram police station.
