BBMP pulls down 42 illegal hoardings

The Bruhat Bangalore Mahangara Palike (BBMP) has removed 42 illegal hoardings within its limits since September 2.

The drive, to be continued forfew more days, is being carried out in all the eight zones of the BBMP, said the Palike sources. Among the eight zones, the South and the Rajarajeshwarinagar zones account for the highest number of illegal hoardings removed, including vinyl structures (22), followed by the East zone (9).

The zones where the least number of hoardings were removed are Yelahanka and Dasarahalli, where only two hoardings were removed in the last two days. In the West zone, only three hoardings found illegal, were removed. 

Palike Additional Commissioner (Advertisement), Sri Kiran said penalties ranging between Rs 5,000 and Rs 10,000 are being imposed on those responsible for the hoardings.
