Speculations rife as Sudeep meets Siddu

Last Updated 18 September 2013, 18:50 IST

Amid efforts by the Congress to select potential candidates for the 2014 parliamentary elections, actor Sudeep on Wednesday reportedly held talks with Chief Minister Siddaramaiah for nearly half an hour.

Sudeep arrived at Krishna, the chief minister’s home office, at around 9 am and straight away walked into the office where Siddaramaiah was present.

The actor and the chief minister were closeted for about 30 minutes.

Cong candidate?

Though the purpose of the meeting is not known, speculations were rife that Siddaramaiah was trying to persuade the actor to be the Congress candidate in the Lok Sabha polls.

Sudeep had been nurturing political ambition for long.

He had campaigned for Ashok Kheny in Bidar in the 2013 Assembly elections. His name was floated as candidate for Jagalur Assembly seat in 2011. He has not been identified with any party as such.
