The Mumbai police on Thursday submitted its charge sheet against the four accused who gang-raped a 23-year-old woman last month in the abandoned Shakti Mill compound near Mahalaxmi Race Course.
The police also filed a separate charge sheet against the fifth accused in the juvenile court.
The accused have been charged under Sections 376 (D) (gang-rape), 377 (unnatural offence), 201 (destruction of evidence) and 34 (common intention) under the Indian Penal Code.
The 600-page charge sheet delineates the ordeal the victim underwent along with statements of 86 witnesses, forensic report of the evidence collated from the crime scene, DNA sampling report and phone call records of the accused.
On August 22, the victim, an intern in a magazine had gone along with another male intern to the defunct Shakti Mills on an assignment when she was gang-raped by the accused–Salim Ansari, Vijay Jadhav, Mohammed Shaikh, Siraj and a minor.
