Call to strengthen Congress further

Addressing the Congress Membership programme at Gurubhavan on Saturday, he said that of late the self-centred politics is striving and Chief Minister who should safeguard the interests of people is crying on television over his failure to safeguard the interest of certain ministers.

“There is a need for able leadership in the State,” he said and called upon people to strengthen the Congress further.

He said that people must oppose the proposed Bhadra Upper Canal project to be implemented at Muthinakoppa because the project will harm the farmers.

KPCC Observer G A Bava said that the computerised list of Congress party members will be prepared in the same model as the voters’ list. He said that more and more members must be enrolled and they should be given adequate knowledge about various programmes of the government.

District Congress President Sachin Meega said that BPL families must register themselves as members of Congress party.

He said that equipment worth Rs 1.40 crore has already been delivered and this will be distributed to the physically handicapped persons selected during the health camp organised for the physically handicapped by Youth Congress.

ZP Member P J Anthony, Congress Leaders Fakruddin Mohommad, Dr Vijay Kumar, S V Manjunath, Chennakeshav and others were present.
