A gang rape victim almost went through the same trauma again at the hands of the very people she had approached in the hope of getting justice.

Two policemen allegedly tried to rape her at a police station in Uttar Pradesh's  Pratapgarh district on Tuesday.

The matter became known on Friday when the victim, along with her family members, approached senior district officials and lodged a complaint against the police officers.
According to reports, the victim was gang raped by some youths at Elahi village a few days ago.

The woman had reached the police station to lodge a complaint about it.

She alleged that the sub-inspector and a constable took her inside a room and asked her to strip. They tried to rape her when she resisted.

The victim’s parents, however, reached there after hearing her cries and took her away.

The victim narrated the incident after reaching home. She said the policemen had threatened her with dire consequences if she told anyone about it.

After remaining silent for three days, the family decided to meet senior official.
A probe has been launched into the allegations, police said.

A few days ago, another UP police officer had allegedly asked a minor  victim to strip so that he could check how she had been raped.

The terrified  girl ran out of the room and informed her parents.

Earlier also, UP policemen have been accused of raping and sexually harassing women complainants at police stations. A few weeks ago, two Provincial Armed Constabulary jawans allegedly raped a woman in Noida.

In another incident, some UP policemen raped a woman when she  approached them for the release of her husband at Rampur.

There has also been alleged rape at a police  station near the state capital. UP Police have also faced flak from the Supreme Court for not treating women with respect.
