<p>A gang rape victim almost went through the same trauma again at the hands of the very people she had approached in the hope of getting justice.<br /><br /></p>.<p>Two policemen allegedly tried to rape her at a police station in Uttar Pradesh's Pratapgarh district on Tuesday.<br /><br />The matter became known on Friday when the victim, along with her family members, approached senior district officials and lodged a complaint against the police officers.<br />According to reports, the victim was gang raped by some youths at Elahi village a few days ago. <br /><br />The woman had reached the police station to lodge a complaint about it.<br /><br />She alleged that the sub-inspector and a constable took her inside a room and asked her to strip. They tried to rape her when she resisted. <br /><br />The victim’s parents, however, reached there after hearing her cries and took her away.<br /><br />The victim narrated the incident after reaching home. She said the policemen had threatened her with dire consequences if she told anyone about it. <br /><br />After remaining silent for three days, the family decided to meet senior official. <br />A probe has been launched into the allegations, police said.<br /><br />A few days ago, another UP police officer had allegedly asked a minor victim to strip so that he could check how she had been raped. <br /><br />The terrified girl ran out of the room and informed her parents.<br /><br />Earlier also, UP policemen have been accused of raping and sexually harassing women complainants at police stations. A few weeks ago, two Provincial Armed Constabulary jawans allegedly raped a woman in Noida. <br /><br />In another incident, some UP policemen raped a woman when she approached them for the release of her husband at Rampur. <br /><br />There has also been alleged rape at a police station near the state capital. UP Police have also faced flak from the Supreme Court for not treating women with respect.<br /></p>
