The State BJP coordination committee meeting here on Wednesday, is likely to shortlist the venues for holding political convention to be addressed by BJP’s prime ministerial candidate Narendra Modi in the State next month.

Modi is tentatively scheduled to address the Bangalore convention on November 16. The party is scouting for a suitable place to host the convention preferably on the outskirts of Bangalore to avoid traffic jams inside the City.

The preliminary plan is that the attendance at the convention should run into lakhs like “karyakartha mahakumbh” rally in Bhopal addressed by Modi in August this year, party sources said. The meeting is also likely to discuss the parleys top BJP State leaders had with BJP national president Rajnath Singh and party national general secretary (organisation) Ram Lal in Mumbai earlier this month on bringing back former chief minister B S Yeddyurappa to the party fold. Most of the state leaders had told Singh that it would be advantageous for the BJP in the Lok Sabha polls in the state, if Yeddyurappa was brought back to the party fold. Singh had said the party’s parliamentary board would meet soon and take a final call.
