Taluk has been receiving incessant rain for the past one week. Meanwhile, cloudy atmosphere too makes harvesting difficult. Usually growers harvest coffee beans during November - December period when the intensity of rain reduces. At the same time, reducing price of coffee too is a cause for concern for the farmers, said Krishi Pandith Award winner B C Aravind.

The price of Arabic parchment coffee, which was Rs 7,250 during previous week, has been reduced to Rs 6,050. Arabic cherry, which was priced at Rs 2,925, stood at Rs 2,750 this week. Similarly, the price of robusta parchment reduced from Rs 5,200 to Rs 5,000 and robusta cherry from Rs 1,850 to Rs 1,775.
