S N Sondur, fellow, State National Resource Data Management System Centre (NRDMS), said that Karnataka was the only State to have set-up district-level NRDMS centres.
Being a pilot project, Sondur said that all the maps available in hard copy will be digitised, and this will enable users to create special maps and access the database. He said that the website will be opened for public by December end.
The Karnataka Geo portal is jointly funded by Department of Science and Technology, Centre and State governments.
