The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) won the Churu assembly seat, where the election was countermanded due to the death of a candidate, taking the party’s tally to 163 out of 200 Assembly seats in Rajasthan.
Churu has reported 78.55 percent voter turnout from the December 13 polling.
BJP's former minister Rajendra Rathore got 84,100 votes, defeating his nearest rival of the Congress and sitting MLA Haji Maqbool by 24,002 votes. Security of the other seven candidates was forfeit.
