Educated youth are the worst victims of wrong policies being propagated by incumbent Chief Minister Omar Abdullah, said Opposition Peoples Democratic Party patron Mufti Mohammad Sayeed on Sunday.

Addressing a meeting of party’s student wings in Jammu Mufti claimed that all promises made by the National Conference during Assembly elections remained only on
papers.

“Instead of fulfilling the commitment which the NC had made to the people during elections, government has been deceiving people by making false statements,” said J&K former chief minister.

He dubbed the much touted employment and welfare policy as ‘cruel joke’ with the educated unemployed youth of the state to befool the youth.

The PDP patron said the youth of the state deserve better than the faulty employment and welfare policy of the government, “But during the last five years nothing concrete has been done.” He said.

He claimed that employment policy of the state government has failed to yield any result.
Assailing the government for ‘betraying’ unemployed educated youth, Mufti regretted that during the last five years government has brazenly auctioned  government jobs to deprive meritorious and deserving candidates and to adjust only undeserving candidates in lieu of money.

“Only noticeable achievement of Omar Abdullah government is auctioning government jobs in open market,” he alleged and pointed out that from MLCs to class –IV employees everything is on sale under National Conference led coalition regime.

While pointing towards recent exposure of scam in Board for Professional Entrance Examination (BOPEE), Mufti rued that during the last five years, the sanctity of every institutions – from Assembly to BOPEE – has been systematically eroded by corrupt and illegal means.

“We institutionalised the recruitment process to ensure that only deserving and meritorious candidate should be recruited,” he said.
