Theoretical physicist and humanist, widely regarded as one of the most influential scientists of the 20th century, Albert Einstein once said, “If you want your children to be intelligent, read them fairy tales, if you want them to be more intelligent, read them more fairy tales.”

But the story was  quite different at Siri Fort auditorium this past week. Nickelodeon, the kid’s entertainment channel, made it possible for the children to not just hear the tales but see and relive them too. It was Dora’s Pirate Adventure which made a debut live on stage in India.

With millions of kids all over the world and across India smitten by the adventures of Dora the explorer, the channel brought alive Dora’s adventure, where the tiny explorer actually went on an adventure expedition. The theatrical stage show, which started on December 27, culminated successfully on Monday.

There was a broad smile on the face of every child who enjoyed being part  of the exciting 80-minutes of Dora’s Pirate Adventure. Children were enthusiastically cheering and waving every time Dora asked them to do so. The event was so delightful that even parents couldn’t help themselves from joining in the fun adventure. Dora with her best buddy Boots the monkey, Diego and the rest of their friends was dancing, singing and accomplishing the journey with the help of young fans in the audience, through the Dancing Mountain, the silly singing bridge, the massive rock and more, to catch the pirate piggies. The best thing was that the event encouraged the children to take part in the Dora the Explorer show, which is designed to teach them to explore, communicate, overcome obstacles, solve puzzles and discover a diverse and exciting world. The same is with the live show as well. The best study is that which captures your interest. It was a great experience of play, learn and happiness for the assembled gathering of children. From answering questions, alerting the cast and crew of the trouble and dancing, the little ones had the time of their life.

Nina Elavia Jaipuria, executive vice president and business head, kid’s cluster, Viacom 18 Media Pvt. Ltd said, “Nickelodeon is all about providing unforgettable moments for its audiences. With the first of its kind international ‘Dora the Explorer Live’ theatrical, we aim to engage kids through a larger than life ‘play and learn’ experience beyond television. With this grand extravaganza, Dora will encourage kids to learn, investigate, grasp and explore the world around them.”
