Port City offers warm welcome to next Paryaya seer

Good culture should be imparted in children at a tender age so that they do not step the wrong path, said Kaniyoor mutt seer Shri Vidyavallabha Theertha Swamiji. He was speaking after receiving felicitation, offered to him on behalf of the citizens of Mangalore at Town Hall on Wednesday, prior to the seer’s Purapravesha (city entering) to Udupi.

The seer added that one should remember God at all times to get peace in the last stage of the life. If one thinks only about money throughout his life, what he will think in his last minute of his life is also about money and not God. Right from childhood, one should be taught to praise God and seek his blessings, to make one inculcate divine qualities.

Hence, shun attachment towards earthly comforts to be a real devotee, the seer said.
Minister for Urban Development and Udupi district in -charge minister Vinay Kumar Sorake said that the Paryaya celebrations in Udupi are being celebrated like a state festival, which represents the devotees pride towards the social work of the mutt.

Mangalore South MLA J R Lobo said that the religious leaders are not confined to that particular religion and all people should revere various religious heads and seek their guidance as they belong to the entire society.

Kannada Sahitya Parishat former President Hariskrishna Punaroor said that the seer will be taken on in a procession on Thursday from Jodukatte to Udupi Mutt, on the occasion of the seer’s ‘Pura Pravesha’.

MLC Capt Ganesh Karnik, MP Nalin Kumar Kateel, Minister for Health and Family Welfare U T Khader also spoke.

Paryaya celebrations welcome committee working President and DK district Kannada Sahitya Parishat President Pradep Kumar Kalkura, Welcome committee President A Raghvendra Rao, Sharavu Shri Mahaganapathi Temple Administrator Raghavendra Shastry, among others were present.

Procession
Prior to the stage function and felicitation at Town Hall, Shri Vidyavallabha Theertha seer was taken on in a procession from Sharavu Shri Mahaganapathi Temple to the programme venue. The procession was inaugurated by Mangalore South MLA J R Lobo.
