Sunil, Walmiki recalled

Forwards S V Sunil, who has been out of action because of an elbow injury, and Yuvraj Walmiki have been recalled to the national side for the Hero Hockey World League Final at the Major Dhyan Chand National Stadium, starting from January 10. 

Midfielder Sardar Singh, who has 174 caps to his credit, will lead the team while goalkeeper P R Sreejesh will be the vice-captain.

The 18-member squad was announced on Wednesday and as many as six players from the junior World Cup squad have been included.

Squad: Goalkeepers: PR Sreejesh (vice-captain), Harjot Singh; Defenders: Birendra Lakra, Rupinder Pal Singh, V R Raghunath, Kothajit Singh Khadangbam, Amit Rohidas; Midfielders: Sardar Singh (captain), S K Uthappa, Dharamvir Singh, Manpreet Singh, Chinglensana Singh Kangujam, MB Aiyappa; Forwards: Nikkin Thimmaiah, SV Sunil, Mandeep Singh, Affan Yousuf, Yuvraj Walmiki.
