Bangalore University will announce the fifth semester BSc results on Friday, Registrar (evaluation) R K Somashekar said.

There has been a delay in the results as many valuators went missing this time and the university has still not completed the valuation work. The BCA results that were supposed to be announced to Thursday will take another two days, Somashekar said. “The valuation for both BSc and BCA are complete. We are processing the results. BS results will be announced on Friday. BCA will take another two days,” he told Deccan Herald. He said all the valuation work was expected to be completed by January 15.

‘BU Problematic’

Even as the university is still trying to decided the affiliation status of some of the BEd colleges noted for irregularities, the university is fast running out of time. The Centralised Admission Cell (CAC) will conduct the BEd counselling for the academic year 2013-14 by the end of January. An official in the Cell said they had received the list of affiliated colleges and seats available from all the universities, while the list of Bangalore University colleges were still not complete owing to the numerous controversies surrounding its BEd colleges.

The university had decided to disaffiliate 21 colleges this year out of which there is a Court stay order on 13 of them. Their fate hangs in the balance until further proceedings. The university also has to send in a fresh Local Inquiry Committee (LIC) to inspect three of the 21 colleges, for which it has decided to give another chance.

“We will have to complete it all before the counselling begins. The LIC report has to be submitted before the Academic Council and the Syndicate before it is sent to the government,” Somashekar said.
