Last Updated 21 January 2014, 21:33 IST

The Udupi district unit of Komu Sauharda Vedike ridiculed that Congress has failed to keep up to expectations of the public that brought the party into power.

Speaking to media persons, Komu Sauharda Vedike state convener K L Ashok said the people in Karnataka are ill fated, as they are yet to get relief against bad governance. He criticized that Congress government is no different from BJP government and all expectations of the voters in Karnataka has turned out to be delusion.

People in Karnataka opted for Congress to get rid of evil administration by BJP, however they are now regretting for choosing Congress as Congress is also on the similar path adopted by the BJP. He added that the communal activities are increasing and there is no measures to control the fundamentalist organisations. The atrocities against minorities have become a common phenomenon. The days ahead are insecure and people are not sure about the violence that come their way in future, he added.
He said that the report over the atrocities in the State done by the Vedike as part of the fact finding process will be submitted to the government before the assembly session as there is a need for debate over the issues raised in the report in the session.

He said the government should tackle the issue of communal violence followed by hate speeches and stringent measures should be taken against the offenders who involve in hate speeches and spreading communal violence. He also condemned the Shirva incident that took place on Monday.

He added that vested interest who wants to campaign for vote bank politics are involved in such heinous activities. They want to disturb peace in the society as Lok Saba polls are fast approaching.

He ridiculed ‘Khadga Deekshe’ and added that the Sangh Pariwar activists do not have any morality to campaign against the safety and decorum of women as their party members have left no stone unturned in causing disrespect to women.

Whether it is former MLA Raghupathy Bhat’s wife Padmapriya’s suspicious death or it is the sex CD controversy involving him or the BJP ministers enjoying pornography in Vidhana Soaudha were all heartily welcomed by the Sangh Pariwar activists.

Sarcastically, they raise voice only when other party men are into illegal affairs.
He added that the communal violence incidents are increasing in Karkala taluk after Sunil Kumar became the MLA of the region. He also said the accused in the Face book issue should be punished, however the political parties, especially, Sangh Pariwar activists who come forward to take the benefits of the issue should not be spared. The district superintendent of police has been appealed to take action against those who are into hate speeches.

Social activist Prof Nagari Babayya said democracy incorporates multicultural approach and the criticism should be limited in showing the right path rather than spreading hatredness among mass.
