Governor H R Bhardwaj on Wednesday said the entire East-West corridor between Baiyappanahalli and Mysore Road Terminal is expected to be opened for public by the end of 2014.

The Namma Metro section between Peenya village station and Nagasandra is expected to be commissioned for the public by August 2014. He said the government was committed to improving infrastructure, services and facilities for the City’s 10 million residents.
Addressing the joint legislature, he said: “Bangalore occupies a pride of place in both national and international arena. Many new projects for improving traffic congestion, solid waste management and housing etc have been initiated.”

Cauvery water

He also said that 110 villages, newly added to the jurisdiction of Bruhat Bangalore Mahanagara Palike (BBMP), will receive Cauvery water supply. The Governor said the government was actively pursuing a new scheme to provide Cauvery water to these villages.

As part of government’s signature infrastructure projects, Bangalore International Convention Centre (BIC) and Devanahalli Business Park (Devanahalli) will be taken up.
The City will also see setting up of a super-speciality veterinary hospital. With the renaming of Bengaluru International Airport (BIA) as Kempe Gowda Airport, aspirations of the people have been fulfilled.
