Teen among 4 victims of sexual assault in recent days

A six-year-old girl was raped by her neighbour in East of Kailash in south Delhi on Monday evening, police said.

The accused, whose name police declined to reveal, took the girl to the fourth floor of a building and raped her.

The girl managed to reach home and informed her family about the incident. “A case has been registered and a hunt is on to nab the accused,” a police officer said.

In three separate cases reported from the city recently, a 17-year-old girl and two women have alleged rape by their neighbours. In the first incident, the teenage girl alleged that she was raped after being abducted by her neighbour in west Delhi’s Nihal Vihar.

The victim lives with her family in Lakshmi Park. In her complaint to police, she claimed that she was abducted by a man named Gaurav. “The accused took her to a friend’s house on January 17 and kept her confined for three days,” a police officer said.

It is alleged that she was raped several times by Gaurav during that period.
The girl somehow managed to escape from Gaurav clutches and revealed the ordeal to her family. Police have also conducted her medical examination which confirmed sexual assault.

A case has been filed against Gaurav on the basis of the allegations, but he continues to remain absconding.

In the second incident, a 28-year-old woman alleged rape by her husband in Nihal Vihar. She told police that she had married her neighbour Santosh Kumar, 29, in a temple on August 29 last year.

They soon started living together in Arjun Nagar, but Santosh left the home on January 20.

The woman claimed that she has been cheated by Santosh due to which she alleged rape.

According to Delhi Police, the new laws force them to file a case on the basis of the allegations and medical examination.

Investigating officers are conducting raids to nab Santosh.

In the third incident, a 25-year-old married woman claimed that she was raped by her neighbour in outer Delhi’s Mangolpuri on Sunday.

The victim lives with her husband in Buddh Vihar.

She told police that Suresh had called her to a friend’s house, where he proposed her for marriage. When she refused, Suresh allegedly raped her.
