Reddy meets RSS leader

Last Updated 27 November 2009, 19:38 IST

Reddy joined the BJP in 1996 and had not associated himself with RSS. But he did participate in the RSS convention chaired by Mohan Bhagwat, in Bangalore on last Sunday. Jayadev, when contacted, said no politics was discussed at his meeting with Reddy.

But sources said the current political situation and the upcoming elections were discussed for an hour at Keshava Krupa, the headquarters of RSS. The election committee, headed by Party State President D V Sadananda Gowda, has a good number of leaders on it besides RSS leaders Satish and Santosh. The panel will meet on Saturday at 11 am to finalise the candidates for the elections.

It is said that the BJP, which is still a divided house, has decided to bury the differences and work unitedly in the coming elections. The Congress and the JD (S), in Delhi on Friday, almost decided to have a pre-poll alliance for the council elections. Perturbed over the development, the Sangh leaders have reportedly advised the BJP leaders to work unitedly failing which it may cause dearly to the ruling party in the elections.

Sources said that Reddy would like to have a final say in the selection of candidates in some districts including Bellary, Raichur and Koppal. It is to be seen how much freedom the Reddys and the CM would have in selecting candidates in tomorrow's meeting.
The Bellary ministers, who were flying high just a few weeks back, are now in the dock, following allegation of illegal mining from various quarters.
