CM to lay foundation for super speciality hospital on Feb 28

A slew of developmental works are in the offing with the district set to receive a boost in health and other sectors.

Chief Minister Siddaramaiah will be laying foundation stone on February 28 for the much awaited super speciality hospital of Sri Jayadeva Cardiovascular Sciences and Research Centre, at PKTB Sanatorium on KRS road. This will be in addition to the existing hospital on the premises of K R Hospital in the city.

Director of the hospital Dr C N Manjunath who made a spot visit on Saturday, told the media that the 350 bed hospital estimated to cost Rs 115 crore will be built on a space of three lakh square feet. It will be a super speciality facility largely benefitting people from Mysore and surrounding districts like Chamarajanagar, Mandya, Kodagu and Hassan districts.

 The work expected to start in the month of May is expected to be completed in two years. The director sought technical information on the works from executive engineer Ramkrishna, after going through the site plan.

On March 1, the Chief Minister is scheduled to inaugurate and launch various works at temple town Nanjangud, according to local MLA and Revenue and District in-charge Minister V Sreenivas Prasad.   Prasad said that Siddaramaiah will dedicate Dr B R Ambedkar Bhavan built at an estimated cost of Rs 2.25 crore and also the office of assistant director, agriculture department built at the cost of Rs 39.96 lakh. 

He will also launch works for construction of Mini Vidhana Soudha, Maharshi Valmiki Bhavan and Dr Babu Jagjivan Ram Bhavan and 52 petty shops around Srikanteshwara Swamy Temple, a hi-tech KSRTC bus stand and others.
