Mass prayers mark Bakrid

MLA Bache Gowda promises Rs 10,000 for Shadi Mahal in C B pur

Braving hot sun, large crowd gathered at the maidan and due to lack of space they spread on to the road and listened to the preaching of religious leaders. Children joined the adults in the celebrations in Kolar.

Distribution of meat to the poor is a part of Bakrid celebration and large number of poor people were found gathered outside Muslim households. Traffic was closed from Kolar Clock Tower Circle to Highway circle to facilitate mass praying.  Tight security was arranged to prevent any untoward incidents.

Chikkaballapur MLA K P Bache Gowda has promised to release Rs 10,00,000 from MLA Fund for the proposed construction of Shadi Mahal by muslims in the City. He was speaking at the mass prayer organised at Idag Maiden on the occasion of Bakrid on Saturday. “Chikkaballapur is know for communal harmony in the State, as muslims of the region practice brotherhood,” he added.

Deputy Commissioner Anwar Pasha took part in the mass prayer. SP Raveendra Prasad, City Municipal Council President M Prakash, Senior member Rafeeq, Standing Committee President Manjunath, member Milton Venkatesh and others took part in the programme.
