The Congress high command is understood to have snubbed the dissatisfied party legislators from the State and asked them not to continue mounting pressure on the party over their demand for ministerial berths.

Four of these legislators – K B Koliwad, Dr A B Maalakaraddy, Malikaiah Guttedar and Rajashekar Patil – were camping in Delhi for the last two days to meet the high command on their demand to make them ministers before the coming polls. But neither party chief Sonia Gandhi nor vice president Rahul Gandhi give them an appointment.

They finally met AICC general secretary in charge of Karnataka Digvijay Singh on Saturday. “We met Singh and appraised him as to how the party would benefit in the coming polls if they are made ministers. But he did not give any assurance. We hope the party will consider our request,” Koliwad told this paper.
