Conference on sport at MLA College

The Malleswaram Ladies’ Association First Grade College for Women will host a UGC-sponsored two-day national conference on Lifestyle Management and Wellness through physical activities, yoga, recreation and sports.

The conference, which will be hosted in the college premises on February 14 and 15, will see badminton legend Prakash Padukone as the guest of honour for the inaugural function.

Several research papers will be presented by Physical Education directors and research scholars from Bangalore, Hyderabad, Maharashtra and Tamil Nadu. More than 50 delegates have signed up for the conference.

There will be an interactive session with the theme ‘Challenges  Faced by Sportspersons at the National and International Level’ on February 15, with prominent former sportspersons like Jude Felix, Vijay Lancy, Sachin S Belvadi and Niveditha Rajan, sharing their expertise and experiences.

The main agenda of the two-day meet is to address issues such as the importance of physical activities, implications of sport for health programming and wellness through lifestyle management.

Dr MP Ganesh will be the guest of honour for the valedictory function.
