Devdutt produces all-round show as St Joseph's emerge champs in BTR tourney

 Devdutt BP (8-37 and 107) did the star turn for St Joseph’s Boys High School as they lifted the KSCA-BTR under-14 cricket title against Bishop Cotton Boys School here. St Joseph’s drew the final against their opponents but clinched the title on account of their first innings lead.

Batting first, Bishop Cottons could only make a paltry 94 in 58.5 overs as Devdutt registered figures of 8-37. He then scored a century which took St Joseph’s 230 in 75.3 overs before they were bowled out – a significant innings lead of 136.

Bishop Cottons fared better in their second innings but the match was called off when they were 73/3 in 21 overs.

Brief scores: Bishop Cottons Boys School: 94 all out in 58.5 overs (Ayush Shetty 29, Rahul Kumar 29; Devdutt BP 8-37) and 73/3 in 21 overs (Jikhil 2-34) drew with St Joseph’s Boys High School: 230 all out in 75.3 overs (Devdutt BP 107, Ritin Christy 46; Mihir Rajesh 2-65, Tarun KC 5-56, Srikar 2-64).
