Organic farming fest in Mudigere

Speaking after inauguraing the organic farming festival organised by the Agriculture Department in association with Hemavathi Organic Farmers Organisation at Kalanathapura in the taluk on Monday, Aravind said that youths should enter the farming sector for healthy society. Similarly, more research works should be carried out in the sector to preserve the environment, he added.

Taluk Krishika Samaja president O L Sundar said that it will be beneficial to the farmers, if they exchange know-how each other and cultivate the land. Technogy can also be adopted to find solution to the shortage of manpower in the agriculture sector, he added.

Taluk assistant director of Agriculture Department Siddappa spoke on organic farming and other related topics on the occasion.  Falguni gram panchayat president Sarfunnisa presided. Dairy farming expert Krishnaraju, Fisheries expert A V Swamy, organic farming experts Ravishankar, Dr Ramachandra, Hemavathi Organic Farmers Organisation president Mallesh, Hemavathi Farmers Federation president Gopal and senior farmer Padmegowda were present.
