Last Updated 01 December 2009, 18:27 IST

Once again, the centre at Garden City College continues to be in the news for the wrong reasons as the test was cancelled at two labs.

While around 40 candidates had the misfortune of not appearing for the test, another set of students who were scheduled to take their test in the morning, finshed only by 4 pm! The organisers once again put the delay down to “technical problems and virus attacks”. There were other issues related to finger print recognition and system compatibility to complete the misery of the candidates
Meanwhile, a set of students belonging to tier two cities in the state, who came to find about the rescheduled tests had to return disappointed. Several of them had to catch a bus back to their respective towns on account of semester examinations.

Bharat, student from Dharwad had to return on Tuesday night to appear for his semester examinations after three days of waiting for the reschedule. Abhishek, an enginneering student lamented the lack of communication from Prometric. “My test was was cancelled on the opening day but there has been no communication of the reschedule. I spent a year preparing for this and now I am losing interest in even sitting for the test,” he said.

Another student Amit whose test has been rescheduled echoed similar sentiments. “At this rate the students who have to reappear will lose all interest in sitting for the test. There have already been so many false alarms,” he said. However, Amit and a few lucky others who managed to get through the helpline were informed that they will receive communication on the reschedule by Wednesday evening.

The test proceedings were largely trouble free at the remaining centres with the Garden City College too managing to fix the problems at the labs for the afternoon session.
