The Madivala Police on Monday claimed to have solved the murder of 23-year-old Satish Kumar, who was stabbed to death atop a hill in Tamil Nadu in 2011, following the arrest of four members of a  gang.

The arrested are D Shivakumar (23) of Madivala, Deepan (23), Saran Raj (21), both from Krishnagiri in Tamil Nadu, and Suman Kumar alias Suman (19) of Marikuppam in Kolar Gold Fields. The main accused G Shivakumar, is, however, still at large.

Satish Kumar, a car driver, residing in Madivala, was killed atop a hill at Krishnagiri and his body buried there. His mother Roja had filed a missing complaint with Madivala Police on November 25, 2013 stating that her son was missing since 2011.

“We tracked the mobile phone details of Satish Kumar and traced it to accused D Shivakumar. He confessed to having killed Satish at the behest of G Shivakumar, who had taken Rs 1.5 lakh from the deceased. Shivakumar killed Satish with the help of four others as he was unable to repay the loan,” Madivala Police said.

The accused had taken Satish on top of a hill in Pereagraharam village in Tamil Nadu’s Krishnagiri district assuring return of money and getting him a new car. After the murder, the body was buried there. The body is yet to be exhumed, police said.

Auto driver booked

An autorickshaw driver, Babu, 35, allegedly tried to molest an 11-year-old girl in Devasandra under KR Puram police limits on Sunday night.

The girl and Babu, who was residing with his wife and three kids, were neighbours and used to frequent each other’s houses. On Sunday, Babu and the victim's father, an employee in a hotel, were partying in Babu's house since afternoon. An inebriated Babu started hugging the girl and tried to remove her clothes.

The victim informed her parents about Babu’s molestation in the night, who then lodged a complaint. The police arrested Babu on Monday and registered a case of attempt to rape. Both the accused and victim have been sent for medical examination and the report is awaited, police said.
