Churchill Brothers continued their good run in the AFC Cup as they scored a comfortable 3-1 win over Home United of Singapore in a Group E league match of the AFC Cup here on Thursday.

Churchill Brothers scored through Anthony Wolfe (16th), Raju Yumnam (26th) and substitute Balwant Singh (90+1). Home United had taken the lead through Qui Li (10th).
Churchill Brothers have collected six points from three matches. While Home United, who are yet to win, have one point from three games. The win gives Churchill Brothers a big boost ahead of their away match on April 2.

Churchill, who beat New Radiant easily in their last match, started positively and had two early chances to take the lead, but keeper Shahril Bin Jantan came up with brilliant saves to deny Wolfe on both occasions.

The visitors surged ahead in the 10th minute through Qiu, who beat keeper Lalit Thapa off a back pass from Ahmed Jamil. Unnerved by the setback, the home side kept probing and found the equaliser six minutes later. Thangjam Singh, from the left, crossed the ball into the box for the unmarked Wolfe who headed the ball into the net.

Churchill took the lead 10 minutes later. Yumnam, who saw his shot blocked by Shahril earlier, beat the keeper with a low shot from the top of the box after receiving the ball from Jaison Valles.

With both the teams going for the kill in the last 20 minutes, it was substitute Balwant Singh who sealed the issue.
