JOIN USDYES and JSW scored straight-set victories on the opening day of the final phase of the Karnataka Volleyball League here at the Sree Kanteerava Stadium on Wednesday.
Riding on good show from India international Anup D’Costa and Akhin, Vinayak and Sharavanan, DYES, despite being pushed hard by MEG continuously throughout the 65-minute, held their nerve during the crucial stages to script a fine win.
They took the opening set 25-19, sealed the second by the same margin before prevailing 27-25 in a tightly-contested third to start their campaign on a bright note.
JSW’s match against KVC almost mirrored that of the DYES-MEG tussle. Just like the opening match, it lasted 65 minutes and the three sets were well contested with JSW sneaking through after winning the crucial points. JSW won the opening set 25-19, took the second 25-12 and then won a back-and-forth third 31-29.
