Nearly six months after their arrest, 12 Indian crew members of a US-based ship were on Friday released from prison after the Madras High Court granted them bail.
The 12, among 33 detained crew members of M V Seaman Guard Ohio that was found carrying illegal arms, were released from Palayamkottai Central Prison, police said.
It granted them conditional bail and asked them to deposit Rs 25 lakh with the Tuticorin Court as surety for all crew members, who are expected to be released after formalities.
