Resuming at 174 without loss, it looked like Australia were on their way to a big score, but the combination of Benn (5/155) and paceman Kemar Roach (3-93) spoiled Australia’s designs by picking up wickets at regular intervals and restricting them to 439, twelve runs behind the West Indies. The Aussie batsmen were at fault for not carrying on as almost all of their top order players got starts but just could not build on them.

Michael Clarke (71) and wicketkeeper Brad Haddin (55 n.o.) were the notable contributors for the Aussies on the third day keeping them within touching distance of the Caribbeans.
The star of the day though was Benn who toiled through 53 overs to pick up his 5 wickets.
At the end of the day’s play, West Indies were 23/0.
