BJP leader Maneka Gandhi on Sunday hit back at Priyanka Gandhi Vadra’s comment on her son Varun Gandhi and said the country would decide who has gone on wrong path.
“If he (Varun) has gone astray while serving the country, the country will decide,” the BJP’s Aonla MP, who is contesting Lok Sabha elections from Pilibhit this time, said.
At a meeting with the Congress workers in Amethi, Priyanka reportedly said there was need to bring Varun on the right path as he had gone astray despite being a young member of the Gandhi family.
“He (Varun Gandhi) is definitely from my family, he is my brother. But he has gone astray.
When a young one in the family chooses the wrong path, then the elders show them the right path, the right way. I urge all of you to show my brother the right path,” Priyanka said in her first ever such attack on her cousin.
Varun is contesting for Sultanpur Lok Sabha constituency in Uttar Pradesh.
