A First Information Report (FIR) has been registered by the Bhavnagar police over Vishwa Hindu Parishad (VHP) leader Pravin Togadia’s hate speech row.
The police is collecting statements from witnesses who were present at the alleged meeting where Togadia allegedly made his controversial statement.
The Election Commission, meanwhile, has directed the police to submit an action taken report by Tuesday. The police is also in the process of procuring the CD in which the hate speech against a particular community was being circulated.
Meanwhile, Togadia is reportedly said to have addressed the gathering by saying that Muslims in villages and cities across India should not be allowed to buy houses in Hindu areas.
“Their strategy is to buy one house at a good price and then buy Hindu properties at throw away prices. How can you stop this? There are two ways to stop this, the government enforces the rule in disturbed areas which is already enforced in cities like Ahmedabad.
The act was enforced during Congress government after putting pressure. Once the act is enforced Muslims will not be able to buy property in Hindu-majority area. To do this pressure will have to be put on the government. No need to feel shy about putting pressure on the government, no need to think of BJP or Congress. For protecting the Hindus it is okay put pressure on anyone, be it Congress or BJP. Protection of Hindus is the main issue,’’ Togadia said.
He also suggested that Hindus break open locks and put a Bajrang Dal board in houses of minorities. “I have done this before and kept the possession of the house with me for a long time using the Bajrang Dal poster. The Muslim fellow lost the house and his money, kept fighting the case in the court”.
He also urged the VHP members to take the law in to their own hands in areas where “we are a majority and scare them”.
