Teachers' eligibility test results announced

The Karnataka State Eligibility Test (K-SET) results were announced in Mysore on Monday.

K S Rangappa, vice-chancellor of the University of Mysore, (the nodal agency for conducting the examination), said that 6.6 per cent of the candidates who appeared for K-SET, held in December 2013, have qualified after three stages of examination.A total of 83,755 candidates had registered for the examination, of which 22,360 candidates cleared Stage 1. A total of 5,116 students have passed the examination. As many as 3,533 men and 1,583 women cleared the test.

The examinations were conducted in 32 subjects at 11 centres across the State, as per UGC guidelines, said Rangappa.

Results of the test, which will determine the eligibility of candidates for lecturership as assistant professors in various universities, colleges and other aided and unaided institutes, are available on the website www.kset.uni-mysore.ac.in.
