Both Corby Plus and Pro are message-centric phones for heavy texters, enabled through the finger-friendly QWERTY slide out keypad priced at at Rs 10,050 and Rs 13,900 respectively.
Briefing reporters, Director (Mobiles & IT) Ranjit Yadav said that the firm’s present marketshare in the handset segment is 18.5 per cent in value terms and 15 per cent in volume as against the market size of around nine million units per month. And added that Samsung expects to double its marketshare in the Indian handset segment to about 30 per cent in calendar year 2010.
Yadav said the company would continue to focus on the touch screen phone segment in which it had 32 per cent marketshare with some 14 models.
