The BEd students at Bangalore City College are likely to get their marks cards this week, after a wait of about one-and-a-half year.

The students have had to run from pillar to post the last six months, requesting officials of their college and Bangalore University for their marks cards.

Deccan Herald had published a report in March this year on the delay in issue of marks cards. The students had even given written complaints to the university officials and at the Hennur police station, alleging that the college management had been demanding money for issue of marks cards.

Exam held in 2012

The students had written the exam in December 2012, and the results were announced in February 2013.

The results of the Bangalore City College, however, had been withheld, as it had figured among the blacklisted colleges. It was only in November 2013 that the results were finally declared.

The students have alleged that in addition to the repeated demand for money, they were told to give Rs 5,000 for just the marks cards.

On Saturday, the students approached the university officials for the marks cards again.

Promise for students

Bangalore University Registrar (evaluation) Prof Ninge Gowda has assured that the students would receive their marks cards by Monday.

“The college had not submitted the internal marks of the candidates so far. Besides, the names of four students from this college were inserted into the candidates’ list for the exam after the declaration of the university-approved list. We will inquire into the issue. Barring these four students, the rest of the 32 students will receive their marks cards by Monday,” he added.
