To create a “vibrant” New Delhi Municipal Council area, the council is likely to have mobile motion simulator capsules in six popular areas soon.

So far, five companies have come forward to carry out the council’s concept.

“We always see people thronging malls as they have simulators. The basic idea behind these mobile simulators is to get people out on the streets. We want to create a vibrant NDMC,” said O P Mishra, director project department, NDMC.

So far, the council has identified six locations – inner circle of Connaught Place, INA Market, Children’s Park at India Gate, Sarojini Nagar Market, Khan Market and Gole Market.

The mobile simulators are likely to come up in the parking lots. “Anybody who wants to take the project forward is welcome to do so. However, we will not be able to entertain more than one vendor at one spot because it would disrupt the general traffic. Also, it would cost a vendor between Rs 3-6 crore to set up one such mobile simulator. These entertainment simulators are common in Hong Kong and Singapore,” said Jalaj Shrivastava, NDMC chairperson.

The simulators, which will not be permanent fixtures, can be mounted on a vehicle. Also these will run 3-D animated short films with special effects.

“The experience will be as a floral perfume emanating if the scene in the film depicts so or the seat violently vibrating if it is an adventure scene. The sensory perception has to be fulfilling. However, the seats will not go beyond one foot,” added Shrivastava.
