Super-sub Arasan strikes for ADE

Super-substitute Kavi Arasan (83rd minute) struck the solitary goal of the game which saw ADE edge past HASC in their BDFA Super Division encounter here at the Bangalore Football Stadium on Thursday.

ADE, who top the table with 13 points from five games, soon created the best opening of the match after Elangovan supplied a perfect through ball but Karthik could not convert.

ADE’s attacking impetus grew as the half wore on and Rajkiran and Madhan both went close to giving their team the lead.

HASC’s Xavier Vijaykumar was the next to have an opportunity to break the deadlock but the keeper was equal to the task.

Both the teams continued to press for an opener after the break but the defences were enjoying the upper hand.

HASC, who have seven points from five games, could have gone behind when there was a misunderstanding between the keeper Razaq and one of his defenders but ADE couldn’t capitalise.

With time running out for both sides to find a winner, it was ADE who came up trumps with Arasan slotting the ball home after good build up play from Raju.

In the ‘A’ division match, a brace of goals from Naresh (28th, 38th) and Madhu (73rd, 80th) gave BUFC a 4-1 victory over LRDE.

Surender (33rd) got a consolation goal for LRDE. DYES lead the A Division table with 12 points from five games.

Result: ‘A’ Division: BUFC: 4 (Naresh 28th, 38th, Madhu 73rd, 80th) bt LRDE: 1 (Surender 33rd).
Friday’s fixtures: A Division: Tilak Memorial vs Bangalore Independents; Super Division: ASC vs MEG.
