Infosys on Thursday said that the chairman's office would be dissolved and Executive Assistant to the Chairman Rohan Murty would leave the company on Saturday, when the company will hold its annual shareholders meeting in Bangalore.
Murty's entry into the company had fuelled intense speculation that he could be the prime candidate for the the post of CEO.
The Stanford University computer science PhD graduate served as executive assistant to his father and co-founder N R Narayana Murthy during a crucial period when the company was finding its moorings again a difficult demand environment.
