Homemaker attempts suicide

Anjali, 40, a homemaker, sustained severe burns after she attempted to commit suicide by setting herself ablaze at her residence in Manorayanapalya in Hebbal on Monday. 

She was rushed to Victoria Hospital where doctors said her condition was highly critical as she had sustained 70 per cent burns.

According to the Hebbal police, the incident took place on Sunday night when she her husband Mani was away. On hearing her cries for help, neighbours rushed to her aid and shifted her to the hospital, the police said.

Preliminary investigation suggested it to be case of suicide attempt. The police said they were yet to ascertain what drove her to take the extreme step.
