JOIN USA 23-year-old software engineer with a private firm was killed after his bike collided with a speeding minibus near KIADB industrial area in Bagalur on Monday morning.
The deceased has been identified as Jeevan P, a resident of Bagalur and native of Tumakuru.
The Chikkajala traffic police said the accident took place around 8.30 am when Jeevan was on a bike to his office with a friend Vijay Kumar, also an engineer. Jeevan was riding the bike. Kumar sustained minor injuries and is admitted to hospital.
Jeevan was a son of Purushotham, a professor in Siddaganga Institute of Technology (SIT) Tumakuru. After the post-mortem, the body was handed over to members of his family.
The Chikkajala traffic police have registered a case and arrested the minibus driver identified as Darshan. Both the vehicles were seized and investigations are underway.
