Golden Star’ Ganesh will turn a year older today but what you just can’t miss about the actor is his new look.

He has lost oodles of weight for his latest project ‘Style King’, where he appears in a double role for the first time. “Somebody told me that I look like a Mexican actor. I didn’t think I could do so much with my looks. I am amazed at myself,” laughs Ganesh.

The young star doesn’t believe in pushing anything till the next moment and doesn’t know what it is like to procrastinate. “I was determined to lose weight but I didn’t do it overnight. It took me a year to shed almost 12 kilos. I went slow and steady. Even as I turn a year older, I feel there’s a lot of positive energy in me now than ever before,” Ganesh tells Metrolife.

The actor’s new look has gone viral and his fans lapped it up as soon as the director of ‘Style King’ PC Shekar posted it on his Facebook fan page. Well, Ganesh will now have a lot of his fans aping his look. “My fans have been very supportive and there’s nothing more fulfilling for me than if they like my new look,” he adds.

The actor has been making a concentrated effort to break free from his romantic hero image and experiment with as many different roles as he can. He played the role of a cook in one of the previous projects and is now playing the role of a skater in another project.

Ganesh essays an entertaining role in ‘Zoom’, where he has also put in extra time and effort to learn skating, “The script demands a couple of stunts with the skates and that’s what I’ve tried to learn. I’ve been going for skating classes for a month,” confesses Ganesh. It’s not that he hasn’t had his share of falls and bruises during the skating sessions. “The fall is all a part of the game.

I don’t give up that easily. There’s risk involved in mastering anything isn’t it?” he wonders. In ‘Style King’, Ganesh will play a double role for the first time and although he is excited, Ganesh doesn’t want to give away too much of the script. “It’s a brilliant script and that’s precisely why the characters are one-of-a-kind. I play contrasting roles. It’s been an emotionally challenging process,” he reasons.
There are a lot of stories reeling in Ganesh’s head which he would like to script and make into a movie someday but meanwhile, he wishes to play a dark character. “I haven’t found a good script offering a dark character as yet,” he concludes.
