Fourth cut-off list still offers popular courses

Seats in Delhi University colleges have been filling up fast for popular courses, suggests the fourth cut-off list released on Thursday evening.

In Arts and Commerce courses, seats are almost full in Shri Ram College of Commerce, Ramjas College, Saheed Bhagat Singh College, Gargi College, Lady Shri Ram College and Venkateshwara College.

LSR, for instance, has closed admission for all Arts courses except BA (Programme), for which the cut-off is 95 per cent in the fourth list. On the other hand, only commerce course feature on Gargi’s list – BCom (93.25) and BCom (Hons) (95.25).

Kirori Mal College in North campus also has only two courses on offer – Economics (92.75 – 95.25) & Bcom (95.75- 98).

According to the fourth list, admission to English (Hons) is still open in 11 out of 42 colleges, but Political Science (Hons) is being offered only in two out of 43 colleges for general candidates.

For admission into BCom (Hons), 14 DU colleges have set the marker between 94 to 97 percent.

Seats in pure Sciences are still up for grab in DU colleges. LSR has issued a cut-off of 95.5 per cent for BSc (Hons) Mathematics. North campus colleges like Ramjas and Hansraj are also offering the course in its fourth list.

At least five North campus colleges are still offering Chemistry (Hons), whereas Physics (Hons) still feature in the Hindu College’s list. For admission into the course, the college has reduced the cut-off to 96.66 from 97 per cent.

Also nearly half of the colleges that offer Computer Science have issued the fourth cut-off list for general category students. Hansraj College has posted a cut-off of 97-98 per cent cut-off.

Other colleges that have not closed admissions for Computer Science are Kalindi, PGDAV and Saheed Sukhdev College of Business Studies.
