Abhishek, Ruth emerge champions

Abhishek Yeligar and Ruth Misha, top seeds in the men’s and women’s singles categories respectively, reigned supreme in the 9th MS Ramaiah Anandashram 3-Star State-ranking badminton tournament on Tuesday.

While Abhishek overcame a mid-match loss in concentration to eventually overpower third seed Rohan Castelino 21-19, 13-21, 21-13 to capture the men’s singles title, Ruth was simply too good in her 21-10, 21-9 demolition of Meghana Kulkarni for the women’s singles crown.

Top seeds prevailed in the men’s doubles final too as the pair of Adarsh Kumar S and Vineeth Manuel C beat Jagadish Yadav K and Sanjeeth S 21-16, 21-12.
