Arjun Maini scorched a wet track to win his second race of the year at the British BRDC Formula4 championship on Saturday morning.

Raoul Hyman finished second after fighting his way up from seventh while team-mate Will Palmer came third.

The race began behind the safety car, which pulled in after one lap. Though Tom Jackson started from pole position, Maini edged into the lead at corner on the first lap by making a briliant late braking manuvere from the outside. The Bangalore boy then proceeded to stretch out a comfortable margin of 4.883 seconds by the end of the race .

Maini also set the fastest lap of the race at 1:49.6 seconds and continues to lead the Jack Cavill Cup by having three pole positions. His three fastest laps clearly display a good pace .

“I really enjoy the wet conditions, and at this track especially,” said Maini after his victory. “We did some testing here last week and it paid off. It feels great to get my second win of the year.

This race has given me further confidence to push the limits under wet conditions. I am looking forward to the next tound at Silverstone next month.”
