State-level yuvajana mela from Dec 26

Addressing a press conference at the Deputy Commissioner’s Officer here on Monday, Sullia MLA and Reception Committee president S Angara said that Chief Minister B S Yeddyurappa and Sports and Youth Affairs Minister Goolihatti D Shekhar will be the guests on the occasion. The government has already released Rs 5 lakh for Yuvajana Mela and Rs 2.1 lakh for Swamy Vivekananda State Youth Award.

 The programme will be hosted jointly by the district administration, Zilla Panchayat, Department of Sports and Youth Affairs and Yuvajana Samyukta Mandali, he added.
About 800 selected participants from 29 districts would participate in 18 events at the mela, Angara said adding that the taluk-level Yuvajana Mela 2009-10 will also be conducted along with state-level event.

Elaborate arrangements will be made for the smooth conduct of Yuvajana Mela, he said and added that 16 committees were already formed to work for the success of Mela.
Additional Deputy Commissioner Prabhakar Sharma was present.
