Five persons were killed in a head-on collision between two vehicles on Kalmala-Thinthani bridge at Jalahalli town in Devadurga taluk of Raichur district on Tuesday night.
Driver Hanumant Niluvanji, 26, Suresh Karadigudda, 27, Mudeppa Karadigudda, 22, Shivappa Gourampet, 27, and Mehboobsab Gourampet, 28, died on the way to hospital.
The accident took place when a mini tempo coming from Devadurga towards Jalahalli, collided head-on into another tempo coming from the opposite direction. Tempo driver Dastagir Sab is also seriously injured. A case has been registered.
