Mob ties man to pole, beats him up for 'entering ladies toilet'

The public thrashed a young man after tying him to a pole and removing his clothes for entering a ladies toilet in Siddhartha Nagar under the Madiwala police station limits on Sunday morning.

Ramesh, 19, an unemployed man from Siddharth Nagar, would get drunk every day and misbehave with women living in the slums of his locality.

On Sunday at 9 am, he along with three friends ran into a ladies toilet. But onlookers caught him but his friends managed to flee the spot, the police said.

The people then decided to teach Ramesh a lesson. They tied him to a pole, removed his clothes and thrashed him black and blue. Then the police were called and they arrested Ramesh.

A senior police officer said, “The suspect is a habitual offender and used to rob people by threatening them with weapons. On Sunday too, he unsuccessfully attempted to rob a person and ran into the toilet.”

An attempt to robbery case has been booked against all the four men and the police are on the lookout for the three others.
